Tavannes, Venus 175 powered, stainless steel, ø 36 mm, chronograph, rare black gilt dial, circa 1940s.
The movement is based on the famous Venus Cal. 175 movement, which was used by many brands including Breitling, and is a high quality movement different from the usual Venus movement, such as Côtes de Genève, Péralouge finish, swan neck slow and rapid hands, and chamfering everywhere. The rare black dial is a popular multi-scale design that includes a tachymeter and telemeter by underlining, and it is a gem with a wonderful taste of textured aging. The moderately sized cylinder case is designed with a narrow bezel and a large dial, giving it a greater presence than its actual size.
