Manufactured in 1946, the Patek Philippe Ref. 425 Rectangular – an extremely rare platinum model.
The Ref. 425 is already a rare timepiece, but this particular piece is exceptionally special even among vintage Patek Philippe watches due to its platinum case, an uncommon material choice. The dial features a unique two-tone finish, differing from the usual vertical and horizontal patterns—it has an angular finish in two directions, creating a distinctive look. Notably, this dial lacks the usual "&" marking often seen on Ref. 425 models and does not feature diamonds, which are commonly used on platinum-cased versions. These factors contribute to its exceptional rarity and value.
Inside, the watch is equipped with the Caliber 9-90, considered the pinnacle of rectangular movements. This timepiece comes with an archive extract and an original 18k white gold buckle from a later period.
