This is an Omega Cosmic, an extremely rare Ref. 3944, square design model in 14K pink gold, manufactured in the early 1950s. The Ref. 3944 features a rare square case design, unusual for the Cosmic line, which commonly has round cases. Though the case diameter is 32mm, the square case and fancy lug design give it an impressive presence, enhanced by the solid gold material's weight and density. The square dial, featuring a triple calendar and moon phase function, displays an exceptional vintage aesthetic and is an extremely valuable piece. It houses the later Cal. 381 movement, which includes triple calendar and moon phase functions, and comes with an original GP buckle. The calendar display is in Portuguese, using the unique liturgical calendar (church calendar) notation (Sab=Saturday, Dom=Sunday, 2aF, 3aF, 4aF, 5aF, 6aF), making this a true collector’s item.
