A Fly Timer made around 1940 by Carl Prepler, a renowned former Tiffany watchmaker. It is a highly rare 'Tretake' waterproof chronograph equipped with the famous Valjoux 72 movement and features a black snail dial. It has the rare three-piece screw-back waterproof case known from Longines, and houses an early version of the Valjoux 72, which differs from the later models in parts such as the carrying arm. The dial, including the logo and 'SWISS MADE' marking, is all crafted using the gilt method, showcasing an intricate and complex snail design rarely seen on Valjoux 72 models. The mechanical appeal of the multi-scale and three registers, the solid feel typical of early waterproof chronographs with large pushers, and the compact yet concentrated form of the 33mm case make this a remarkable piece that will captivate chronograph enthusiasts. It comes with a Creco expansion straight bracelet (fits wrist sizes up to 18cm).
