This is a beautiful example of a rare Staybrite pocket watch with a black gilt dial, manufactured by Eberhard in the 1930s. Eberhard, a company known for producing many wristwatch chronographs, rarely made pocket watches, making this piece especially rare. The black gilt dial, featuring large luminous numbers combined with cobra hands, rail track, small second track, 'Eberhard' logo, and 'SWISS MADE' text, is all crafted using the gilt technique. The original luminous material has aged to a beautiful amber color over time. The 56mm Staybrite case with a side three-step design, similar to those seen in Universal watches of the same era, gives this piece a fantastic vintage military watch aesthetic. This is a collector's item not only for its rarity but also for its excellent preservation, including the beautiful luster of the black gilt dial and the robust original Staybrite case.Engraved on the back cover.
