Manufactured around 1940, Omega Caliber R.17.8, stainless steel waterproof model with a copper two-tone Roman dial. This is a rare piece that houses the Caliber R.17.8, a rectangular movement, in a round case. The back cover, marked "MODELE + DEPOSE / WATERPROOF," indicates a waterproof case, similar to the waterproof cases of the 33.3 chronographs from the same period. As an early screw-back waterproof case, it is also noteworthy for its slim design. The excellent dial design features a pink base with a white circle and Roman indices arranged in a roulette pattern. Combined with the copper-colored aging and the Staybrite case that retains sharp edges, this piece exudes a presence beyond its size.
