This is a Rolex Oyster Semi-Bubbleback from the early 1950s, featuring a rare yellow gold model with an Explorer design. Unlike the more commonly seen steel cases, this semi-bubbleback uses a 14k yellow gold case. The matte white dial, which has changed to a beige color, and the well-aged yellow gold case showcase a wonderful vintage aesthetic. This rare piece also features the engraved indexes with the small crown design seen in the Pre-Daytona models of the same era, and the Super Oyster case that eliminates the need for screwing down the crown, highlighting the characteristics of its time.
