This is a beautiful example of a 1942 Eberhard Cal.16 line equipped 18k yellow gold cylinder design 39mm oversize chronograph with a rare Roman dial. Equipped with the Cal. 16 line, which is different from the later Cal. 14000 in terms of curvaceousness and finish, the chronograph button at 2 o'clock is used to start, stop, and reset the chronograph, while the 4 o'clock position, which appears to be a button, is a sliding mechanism that performs a hack mechanism when slid upward while the chronograph is running. The 4 o'clock position, which appears to be a button at first glance, is a sliding type. The cylinder case, which is rare for Eberhard, has 18k yellow gold and a sense of weight unique to the cylinder design, and the rare silver dial with vertically arranged Roman numerals gives this gem a unique and fascinating look. Overall, this collector's item is in excellent condition and comes with a valuable archive. This chronograph by Eberhard & Co. is highly regarded for its unparalleled originality, design, and quality, including the impactful oversized case with its unique chronograph movement and the intricate, complex, and wonderful dial design.
