1910's Manufacture Cartier Paris "Tortue" very rare platinum and gold model. The front case is made of platinum and the back is made of yellow gold, a rare combination rarely seen in Cartier watches of this period. The dog engraving on the front case indicating the platinum material and the male engraving on the back cover indicating the gold material suggest that this watch was manufactured between 1912 and 1919, making it an extremely rare first model of the "Tortue" that appeared in 1912. The "BTE S.G.D.G." on the dial indicates a patented Brevette, while the S.G.D.G. indicates a government warranty, and the watch has a high documentary value as it contains important information on Cartier's watchmaking at the time. The Jaeger-LeCoultre-based Cal. 9 line, also used in the Santos of the same period, is equipped with 8-position adjustment and beautiful finishing.
