Omega, "30mm Caliber", Ref. 2400-1, early model Sveran model, original black gilt dial, circa early 1940s.
This is a precious early model of "Sveriges" known for Scandinavia. The back cover is engraved ANTIMAGNETISK(anti-magnetic), VATTENT.A.T(water resistant), ST.O.TSKYDDAD(shock resistant) in Swedish, and it was changed to SUVERAN in later years. The use of a specific language other than English is very rare, and it has a high documentary value as it shows that the company was placing importance on the Scandinavian market at that time.
In addition, it is very rare in comparison to the later Svelan case. The black gilt dial with luminescent coating and the massive screw back water resistance give it a military taste.
