Eberhard, Cal.16 line powered, rare black snailed dial, 18k yellow gold, stepped design, oversized ø 39mm, chronograph, circa 1940s.
It is equipped with the Cal.16 line, which is different from the later Cal.14000 in terms of curvature and finish. The 18-karat yellow gold case with a stepped bezel, which is rare in Eberhard, where smooth bezels are often seen, has a strong presence, and the black snailed dial with a matte aged telemeter and tachymeter is a rare gem with an impactful look. The chronograph is made by Eberhard and is highly regarded for its unparalleled originality, design and quality, including the impactful oversized case with its unique chronograph movement and the intricate, complex and stunning dial design.
To operate the chronograph: 2 o'clock chrono button is used to start, stop and reset the chronograph, while the 4 o'clock button, which looks like a button at first glance, is a sliding mechanism that can be slid upwards to activate the hacking mechanism while the chronograph is running. The chronograph button at 2 o'clock starts, stops and resets the chronograph.
