Manufactured in the early 1940s, this rare piece features a Longines Caliber 27 movement and is made of rare 14K yellow gold. It boasts a distinctive 35mm Big Calatrava design with a black applied Roman dial. Unlike the more common 32mm stainless steel cases seen in Calatrava designs, this piece uses a rare 35mm solid 14K gold Big Calatrava case. The rare solid gold case has an inner cover, and the same unique serial number is engraved on both the outer and inner covers (both made of metal). The dial showcases unique features not found in regular models, such as all applied indexes being in an applied format. This allows for a delightful appreciation of the craftsmanship unique to the solid gold model. The black gilt dial, combining Roman and pyramid indexes, and the 35mm Calatrava case reminiscent of Patek Philippe's Ref. 570, make it a truly exceptional piece with excellent design. It is powered by the beautifully finished Caliber 27.
