Eberhard, Cal.16 line powered, rare black dial with snail tachymeter scale, ø 40mm, step design chronograph, circa 1940s.
The button at 2 o'clock is used to start, stop, and reset the chronograph, while the button at 4 o'clock, which looks like a button at first glance, is a sliding mechanism that can be slid upward while the chronograph is running to activate the hacking mechanism. The rare black dial has changed to a brown color with age, and the intricate and complex dial with telemeter and snail tachymeter, combined with the oversized 40mm step case, gives the watch an overwhelming presence and a wonderful vintage taste.
