A 1950s Baume & Merci, 38mm triple-calendar chronograph. A beautiful timepiece of a very rare bezel-set calendar model. It is equipped with a unique Landeron movement with a rotating bezel. By rotating the bezel clockwise and counter-clockwise, it adjusts the month calendar at 2 o'clock, date calendar at 6 o'clock, and weekday calendar at 9 o'clock. The triple-calendar chronographs of the same era, as well as Universal's Tri-compax and Valjoux 72C, are button-operated, and there was no other way to adjust the rotating bezel other than by moving the bezel. This is a very precious gem that shows the originality of its time when each manufacturer was experimenting with trial and error. It is in excellent preservation condition, with an iridescent oil film on the dial and a non-polished case. The original strap and buckle are included.
