This is a solid 14k gold "Carvex" model produced by Gruen in the 1940s and 1950s.
The appeal of this piece lies in its condition and its rarity, which is rarely seen these days. The curve of the case is one of the best examples of the American 50s, when Gruen became quite famous and popular in the American market from the late 40s to the 50s.
