Universal, "Compagnie", Oyster Design, water-resistant, chronograph, rare black multi-scale dial, circa 1940s. It is powered with Cal.381 made by Universal.?This piece is a precious early Oyster design with big crown and big pushers, and the dial is a precious multi-scale design with tachymeter, telemeter, minute track and snail tachymeter. The name "Oyster Design" is from the shape of the case back covers that are very similar to the Rolex Oyster case. There are some models of the same size in later years, but the shape of the back cover and the size and shape of the crown and pushers are different between the earlier and later models.
