1950s UNIVERSAL “TRI-COMPAX Spillino” 1st Waterproof
PRICE : ￥2,750,000 (including tax)
Universal, “Spillino”, “Tri-Compax”, 1st water-resistant model, circa 1950s.
A rare watch piece called the Spillino, the first Tri-compax with a water-resistant function. The thick, cylindrical case form with small round pushers and the dustproof cover is a very rare gem that shows originality among the Tri-Compax with many variations. It is a masterpiece model that represents Universal with a triple calendar moon phase and three register chronograph functions that appeared in the 1940s. It has been improved with time in terms of water resistance and design and changed into a more functional and practical model. The Tricompax with water resistance was changed to a twisted lug case in the late 1950s, and the early spillino cases were produced in a short period of time, and the number of production and distribution is thought to be very small. The watch is equipped with the famous Universal Cal. 281 with triple calendar, moon phase, and three register chronograph. The watch comes with the original tailpiece (14mm) and a tapered riveted bracelet of the same age (not genuine but suitable for a wrist size up to 19cm).
